Catalog: Caldwell 65 / NGC 253
Constellation: Sculptor
Telescope: 11-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain CPC
Camera: Canon Digital Rebel EOS SL1
Software: DeepSkyStacker (mine) and Adobe Photoshop (courtesy of my dad)
Exposure and ISO unknown; I took this picture way back in November and just now got around to posting it. Didn’t note down the details I should have.
Also known as the Silver Coin and Silver Dollar Galaxy.
An intermediate spiral galaxy named for its constellation; not to be confused with the “Sculptor Dwarf Galaxy” or “Sculptor Dwarf Irregular Galaxy.” (I can only assume these are designations for separate objects also found within the constellation Sculptor.) The Sculptor Galaxy is a starburst galaxy, which means it is undergoing a period of intense star formation.

That’s an amazing picture – nice one!
